Sierra at Tahoe Ski Resort is located in Twin Bridges, California, south of Lake Tahoe. It is in the Eldorado National Forest and about 16 miles south of Stateline Nevada. The southern side of Lake Tahoe contains three different ski resorts with the majority of the area resorts on the north side. On the south there are Sierra at Tahoe, Kirkwood and Heavenly.
Sierra is owned by Booth Creek Ski Resorts who also own Northstar at Tahoe. The two sites are "sister sites" and season passes that include both resorts are very popular for the skiers and boarders in the area.
Sierra at Tahoe Ski Resort is one of Lake Tahoe's largest resorts. They have 2,000 skiable acres serviced by 11 lifts, 3 high speed quads, 1 triple chairs, 5 double chairs and 2 surface lifts.
There are 46 runs divided by 25% beginner, 50% intermediate and 25% advanced. The vertical drop is 2,212 feet. The longest run, Sugar n' Spice, is 2.5 miles. For any of you that think Sierra is an intermediate resort needs to check back and visit the newly opened 320 acres known a Huckleberry Canyon. Skiers and snowboarders can access terrain classified as extremely challenging - experts only. If you qualify, enjoy the gladed runs, open bowls, rock chutes, powder pillows and cliff drops.

For the snowboarders Sierra has six terrain parks, two halfpipes, a boardercross track and a 17 foot super pipe. The parks are Broadway, Superpipe, The Alley, Burton Progression Park, Bashful and Smokey Park.
Other activities at Sierra include the tubing hill and the snow play area. The tube hill is 425 feet of fun and it is lift accessed. For the snow play area you can bring your own sleds or rent theirs. Care to burn off an extra 600 calories? Try the three miles of snowshoe trails.
Ski and board lessons for the kids use a very unique area called Adventure Zones. Let your kids experience the learning environments of The Bear Cave, Gold Rush, Pony Express and Teepee Town. Adult lessons are plentiful also, private, groups, Backcountry lessons and even free backcountry tours.

Food and drinks are an important part of everyone's day on the slopes. At the base lodge you will find Java Junction, Sierra Pub and Deli, Aspen Cafe, Mama's Kitchen, Tiki Bar and Grill and Happy Hippie. 360 Degree Smokehouse BBQ is at the Grandview Lodge and Baja Grill is at the West Bowl.
Sierra Mountain Sports Shop is available for all your shopping needs. They sell ski apparel by makers like Sessions, Smith, Northface, Burton and 686. Stop by and see what's new in ski wear, you don't want to be caught out of style.
Lodging at Sierra-at-Tahoe consists of two hundred and fifty lodges and motels in the near vicinity. There is also a nearby campground.
Sierra Ski Resort is located at 1111 Sierra-at-Tahoe Road, Twin Bridges, California 95735. Their phone number is 530-659-7453. They are open 9 am to 4 pm weekdays and 8:30 am to 4 pm weekends. The tubing and snow play areas are open 10 am to 4 pm daily.
