Sierra at Tahoe Ski Resort is located in Twin Bridges, California, south of Lake Tahoe. It is in the Eldorado National Forest and about 16 miles south of Stateline Nevada. The southern side of Lake Tahoe contains three different ski resorts with the majority of the area resorts on the north side. On the south there are Sierra at Tahoe, Kirkwood and Heavenly.
Sierra is owned by Booth Creek Ski Resorts who also own Northstar at Tahoe. The two sites are "sister sites" and season passes that include both resorts are very popular for the skiers and boarders in the area.
Sierra at Tahoe Ski Resort is one of Lake Tahoe's largest resorts. They have 2,000 skiable acres serviced by 11 lifts, 3 high speed quads, 1 triple chairs, 5 double chairs and 2 surface lifts.
There are 46 runs divided by 25% beginner, 50% intermediate and 25% advanced. The vertical drop is 2,212 feet. The longest run, Sugar n' Spice, is 2.5 miles. For any of you that think Sierra is an intermediate resort needs to check back and visit the newly opened 320 acres known a Huckleberry Canyon. Skiers and snowboarders can access terrain classified as extremely challenging - experts only. If you qualify, enjoy the gladed runs, open bowls, rock chutes, powder pillows and cliff drops.
