MTD Snow Blowers

While the name MTD may not be familiar to you, names like Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Yard-Man, Bolens, McCulloch, White Outdoor and Yard Machines might be, they are all brands manufactured by MTD. So regardless of the name, MTD snow blowers can be found in just about every hardware store in cold weather states.

White Outdoor is a pretty typical MTD snow blower line with their single-stage model 235 selling for four hundred dollars. It is powered by a 5.5 HP Snow King 2-cycle engine, with electrics start, and clears a 21" path. The unit also includes their EZ Chute for fast adjustment of the chute.

White Outdoor has four different models of mid-sized two-stage snow blowers. The least expensive is the 6BHE selling for seven hundred dollars. This model is powered by a 5.5 HP Snow King 4-cycle engine and clears a 24" path. It has an electric start, a headlight and the single hand operation feature.

Model 6GLF sells for nine hundred and has an 8.5 HP engine. It clears a 26" path and features the single lever joystick chute control. The 6LLG sells for eleven hundred, has a 10 HP engine and clears a 28" path. At sixteen hundred the SB 928 carries a 10.5 HP engine and is 28" wide.

The big toys in the White Outdoor snowblower lineup are the SB 933 for seventeen hundred and the SB 945 for two thousand. They both carry a big 13 HP Snow King 4-cycle engine. This unit is powered by a 305 cc Briggs and Stratton engine and rides on 16" Snow Hog tires. This big boy sells for thirteen hundred. The prices listed here for White Outdoor and Yard Machines snow removal machines are for comparison only. Do your home work and shop around. I found the biggest of the Yard Machines MTD snow blower, a regular $1,299 on sale at Country Homes Power for $899. We recommend spending some time at your local hardware stores and get an idea for what is selling and being used in your area. Look at all the models and study all the features. Ask some questions and try to narrow your selections down to a few machines, then head home and search prices on the internet. You may be amazed at how much the local hardware store is trying to overcharge you, or you may be very pleased with their price, and service, and run right back to buy. Either way, you will be an informed consumer.
